Portrait of a woman, possibly Maria Trip, Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn, 1639 It is assumed that the young woman is Maria Trip, the daughter of a wealthy Amsterdam merchant. She comes out bluntly that she is rich. Her dress is trimmed with the finest possible, almost transparent batiste. She wears a wealth of pearls and in her left hand she almost carelessly holds a folding fan with the button up. This was still a rare and precious gem in 1639.
