About ‘Pre-Columbian Gold Museum’ by Maarten Verhees

Het Pre-Columbiaanse goudmuseum is een museum in San José te Costa Rica. Het bevindt zich in een ondergronds gebouw onder de Plaza de la Cultura en wordt beheerd door de Banco Central de Costa Rica. Het museum heeft een aanzienlijke collectie van meer dan 1600 voorwerpen uit Pre-Columbiaans goud die dateren uit AD 500.De collectie omvat de eerste munt van Costa Rica, de Media Escudo die werd geslagen in 1825, dierlijke beeldjes, amuletten, oorbellen, erotische beeldjes en El Guerrero, een levensgroot gouden krijgerbeeld versierd met gouden ornamenten in een glazen kast. In de Costa Ricaanse geschiedenis werd goud beschouwd als een symbool van autoriteit en de items getuigen van het vakmanschap van de pre-Columbiaanse periode.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
