During my stay in Fuerteventura, I often went to the coast to witness the ferocity of the water pushed up by the ever-present wind.
Fuerteventura is also known as the island where it is always windy. The combination of wind and water is always spectacular when it reaches the coast.
If this coast is also made of lava, you get to see spectacular waves that break on this lava with great force. This creates beautiful waves with white crests.
This photo also shows what the wind does to the foam heads, which are blown off the waves.
The beautiful clear green water contrasts well with the grey threatening sky above.
The moment I took this photo everything came together for me, threatening sky, wind and a raging sea.
I was born on Goeree Overflakkee and there are beautiful nature reserves to photograph such as the Kwade Hoek and the Slikken van Flakkee. I love to travel and try to capture both the culture and nature of distant countries photographically.
