Just after the rain, I looked towards the city from the Kop van Zuid as the sun squeezed through the clouds one last time. The blue twilight coloured the Maas almost steel grey, while the lights along the Erasmus Bridge lit up like a golden string of beads. In the distance, you can see the familiar residential towers and the slender silhouette of De Zalmhaven; below, the Spido boats are ready for the next round trip. The photo was taken by hand in night mode, softly fanning the light reflexes on the water without losing details in the clouds.
What makes this image special is the contrast between dynamism and calm: moving cars on the bridge, but also the calm waves reflecting back the last of the daylight. The work fits effortlessly into a variety of interiors.
