Royal Navy AgustaWestland EH-101 Merlin HM.2
Registration: ZH856.
The AgustaWestland AW101 (later called EH-101) is a helicopter for military and civilian use. First flown in 1987, it was developed by a joint venture between Westland Helicopters in the United Kingdom and Agusta in Italy in response to national requirements for a modern naval helicopter. Several operators, including the armed forces of the United Kingdom, Denmark and Portugal, use the Merlin name for their AW101 helicopters.
In 2000, the two companies merged, creating AgustaWestland.
In 2007, the type designation AW 101 was changed to EH-101.
