About the artwork
This photo: "Rural simplicity: The lines of a Tragopogon" was taken from a very small part of a fluffy bulb of a Tragopogon. This plant is also known as Morgenster in the Netherlands. A Tragopogon is very similar to a Dandelion, and the two are also related. Both plants, when they have finished flowering, develop a beautiful ball of fluff, with lots of fluff that is carried by the wind to disperse their seeds. However, the structure of the fluff does differ between the two. The Tragopogon has fluff with a kind of cobweb-like structure. If you zoom in on the photo, you can see this clearly. You can also see that I chose a small depth of field for this photo. The focus is just above the point where the stalk turns into the cobweb structure. (near the large middle fluff).
Because the sharpness is only a small part of the photo, this part draws attention and the rest fades away, creating a sense of depth and also creating a calmness in the photo right away.
The warm colours of the Tragopogon stand out nicely against the dark background. This creates a warm autumnal atmosphere.
This picture could hang beautifully in the dining room, bedroom or, of course, just above the sofa in the living room!
