The artwork "SONY Center Berlin - Roof" shows the characteristic roof construction of the Sony Centre at Potsdamer Platz. At the centre is a ring-shaped element from which radially arranged segments extend. These consist of a combination of steel cables and glass surfaces, which give the roof a light, almost floating effect. Part of a neighbouring building can be seen at the bottom of the picture, whose glass façade reflects the surroundings and thus creates additional visual depth.
The inspiration for this work came from a fascination with urban spaces where technology, design and public space meet. The roof of the Sony Centre is not only functional, but also an architectural statement - it spans a central square and creates its own atmosphere.
I wanted to capture a mood that is structured but open - a moment that draws the eye upwards and leaves room for interpretation.
The message lies in the combination of technology and transparency - a symbol of modern urban spaces.
In interior design, this work acts as an architectural accent. It brings clarity, dynamism and a touch of futuristic elegance to modern spaces - ideal for workspaces, galleries or minimalist living concepts.
