After 44 years, I recently returned to Texel. And, despite the cold and stormy weather, I thoroughly enjoyed all that the island has to offer: the lighthouse, the Wadden Sea, sheep, bulb fields, the many birds, beautiful harbours and the beach. And on the beach there is actually always something to see and photograph. Here my eye fell on this sailboat, a tiny speck on the horizon. Combined with the different, beautifully coloured layers, this became a minimalist photo. In the layers you see from top to bottom: windmills, the sea with the sailboat, the beach, a pond with birds and a bit of vegetation on the sand.
If you like a little peace and quiet in your interior, this might be your picture!
