Serenity in Silence

by Christian Ovís

‘Serenity in Silence’ depicts a stylised face with closed eyes set amongst geometric shapes and circular line patterns. The light skin tones are interspersed with orange, red, dark blue and black. Triangles, arcs and narrow planes flow across and around the portrait. A large, dark, diagonal shape in the top left corner provides a sense of direction. The background is a calm cream colour and leaves plenty of space around the head.

The composition combines soft facial features with clean, graphic elements. The mouth, nose and closed eyes remain clearly recognisable, whilst areas of colour interrupt parts of the face. Concentric lines next to the head echo the circular shapes. Small red accents introduce rhythm amongst the lighter areas. Dark arcs at the bottom give the portrait a clear boundary. The contrast between the serene expression and the dynamic geometry defines the image’s character.

This abstract portrait wall decoration suits a contemporary living room, hall or study. Cream and dark blue combine well with understated furniture; red and orange provide warm accents. Wood can complement the soft base tones. A plain wall gives the graphic forms room to stand out. From a distance, the serene face catches the eye. Up close, the subtle curves, sharp angles and overlapping areas of colour become visible.
