About the artwork

Along the coast of Møns Klint, on the eastern side of the Danish island of Møn, white chalk, turquoise sea and vast skies meet in an enchanting landscape. This coastline offers not only imposing cliffs, but also serene views over the Baltic Sea. The alternation of rugged nature and calm waters makes it an ideal location for those who want to be inspired by the interplay of land and sea.

Along the surf of Møns Klint stands a tree, young of years but already dead, its branches outstretched in a last effort towards the light. The sea has tightened its grip on it, its waves have embraced its roots and its branches silently serve as a silent witness to the transience of life. Its leaves are gone, its strength gone, but its silhouette remains, a fragile reminder of the fragile line between life and death. The surf continues to drive the rhythm of time, but the tree, unyielding in its dying, remains standing as a silent symphony of loss. The sea did not swallow it, but welcomed it into its embrace, a silent resting place for a life that ended early.
