Ships moored at the quay in the Waalhaven.
The port of Rotterdam is beautiful and diverse. The Waalhaven is one of the places I love to visit. The various ships the various quays with the big cranes and the warehouses.
There is always something to see, the sailors on deck, the stevedores at work on board the ships or on the quay. The port is a little quieter on Sundays. But there is a lot happening. Ships come and go. Large seagoing vessels the smaller ships manned by rowers or water cabs .
And on a sunny day with beautiful Dutch cloud formations the cranes reaching high into the sky. The old warehouses, the old quays, the atmosphere is still there from the hard work of the men and women in the port. And the crews of the ships.
Raw and the port as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always changing. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.
