Sighişoara is a beautiful sixteenth-century town with nine towers, cobbled streets, mansions and ornate churches. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-kept secrets in Europe. Sighişoara was also the birthplace of Vlad Ţepeş (Vlad the Impaler), the inspiration figure for Bram Stoker's Count Dracula. He ruled Romania in the second half of the 15th century as Vlad III.
