'Silence in Motion'
An ode to peace, reflection and the freedom of coastal life
This serene coastal scene exudes an almost dreamlike stillness. A walker and a cyclist move slowly along the tide line, accompanied by two dogs - their reflections gently fading into the wet sand.
A nod to icm photography (Intentional camera movement). This is deliberately moving the camera while using a slower shutter speed. Combining techniques creates a kind of watercolour effect in the photo. The sky, edited in Photoshop and refined with Corel Painter X3, shows a dramatic play of clouds spreading across the canvas like brushstrokes.
The editing creates an almost ethereal atmosphere: as if the figures are floating in a sea of light. The composition is balanced and minimalist, inviting the viewer to lose himself in the simplicity and endlessness of the moment.
Material recommendation:
Acrylic glass. Provides clarity, enhancing the sky and soft details in the water.
Canvas or Artframe. Enhances the painterly look and makes the work approachable and warm.
Size advice:
A larger size such as 80×120 cm or 60×100 cm gives this work the breathing space it deserves. Let it float on a light-coloured wall to maintain its airiness.
