"Simple still life in petrol: Reflection of a Zeeland Knot" is a macro photo of a beautiful flower of an Astrantia Major (in the Netherlands, this plant is also called Zeeland Knot). I photographed this flower on a special material that reflects, but also has a structure that breaks the reflection. This creates an abstract and painterly representation of the Zeeuws Knoopje upside down in the ground surface. This gives a nice effect to the photo. The background colour in this photo is a petrol - turquoise-like colour.
If you zoom in on the photo, you can clearly see the sharpness in the photo. I chose a shallow depth of field when photographing this Zeeland Knot, so that the front "flowers" are in focus, and the further back you look, the blurrier it gets. With this, I try to create a sense of depth while giving calmness to the image.
This picture can hang beautifully (on aluminium, for example) in the bedroom, dining room or just above the sofa in the living room!
