This macro photo: "Simplicity in a square with soft colours: A tulip with turquoise background" is a photo of a beautiful white (cream-coloured) tulip with a turquoise background. I picked this Tulip myself in a Tulip picking garden in the northern Netherlands.
I then let this tulip stand for a while, until the leaves opened up a little more. I did this because I think it makes the shape of the tulip more exciting. And it also allows the light to enter the tulip more easily. Because of this light, the white - cream-coloured petals seem to light up a bit.
If you zoom in, you can see what I mean. You can then also clearly see how beautifully detailed this photo is, in the parts where the focus is. When taking this photo, I chose a shallow depth of field, so that the sharpness gradually decreases towards the back. This creates a sense of calm and depth in the photo. This photo could, for example, hang beautifully as decoration in the bedroom, dining room or simply above the sofa in the living room!
