A circle, a portal, a glimpse into another world.
A landscape of rolling green hills unfolds before us, guarded by dark fir trees that stand like sentinels at the boundaries of the visible. The black sun hovers above everything - a mysterious celestial body, surrounded by a glowing green halo, as if nature itself is holding its breath in a solar eclipse.
This work is part of an emerging series of round portals: each one opens a window into its own sphere. After the fiery world of the sun in red and orange, this picture leads us into the coolness and stillness of a green eclipse. Two worlds, two poles - heat and light on the one side, depth and mystery on the other.
I work with whatever is right at the moment: Acrylic, photography, digital. A work may begin on canvas and end somewhere else entirely. I layer, discard, edit. Mixed media and collages are my style.
