I love to wander through a city, especially beautiful Rotterdam. I wanted to photograph spring in the city so we crossed a large part of the city. Of course the young buds on plants and trees are the first to stand out but I wanted to make a different kind of photo. We had to hurry at one point because there was rain in the air. We walked near the spot where the old Willemsbrug used to be. Next to it is a park where you can get close to the Hef. It was getting grayer and grayer, and when we arrived at the Hef, I saw that we could not go any further. I thought there was a path leading down along it. I turned around and almost ran into a branch with blossoms. When I looked again closely, I saw the Willemsbrug standing nicely behind it. It's hard to think of a more beautiful symbol of Rotterdam!
This picture fits of course in many Rotterdam living rooms.
