I saw this stairwell during an evening excursion with FotoExpressionGroepGemert on the grounds of the Eindhoven University of Technology.
I transferred the photo in black and white, because this creates a graphic image and the contrasts stand out well. Here I am inspired by M.C. Escher. The play of lines and tessellation give the viewer a long viewing pleasure.
I have also rotated the photograph in order to bring more alienation into the image, a technique I like to use to stimulate the viewer, after a first look, to look again at what he/she actually perceives.
Making the photo square creates balance in the image and, in my view, the composition is calmer.
The photo comes out well in an environment where there are many colors. Through the black and white positioning, a nice point of rest can then be found in it.
