During Christmas, star-shaped lights are placed on the Schiedam Windmills to give Christmas extra atmosphere. Especially in the evening and at night, they are like beacons above the city of Schiedam. This photo was taken from Joop den Uyllaan towards the Parkweg metro station. Several windmills can be seen. Due to the long shutter speed while taking the photo, the lights of the cars can be seen as streaks of light and the water looks like ice. The moon is above the city. The striking skyline with the windmills is easy to see. Because the photo was taken at night, the colour is predominantly blue. Yet the houses with their yellow lights look warm and cosy.
