Still life with books, apples, pears and jugs in the artist's studio in Lebbeke (Belgium - East Flanders) Oil paint on cardboard by Pieter Ringoot (1921-2011)

A still life is an artistic composition of motionless or lifeless objects, which have been lit with care. Painting a still life allows a painter to concentrate on the composition and on the use of colour and tonal value, the smooth distinction in colour nuances between the lightest and darkest lot. As an academic painter, Pieter Ringoot's oeuvre includes several such works.

Pieter was not someone who improvised. He did not stand in front of his canvas to paint; just like that. When he started painting he was prepared, he knew what he was going to paint and how he was going to paint it. Pieter knew his work inside out. With him, a work was not a coincidence but one could almost say a birth of a full-term pregnancy.

He was also someone who did not make things simple and easy for himself and was very rarely if not "never" satisfied with his work. He dared to leave work of hours, sometimes of days undone.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
