Last year, I (of necessity) freed up more and more time to delve into still-life photography. I regularly saw them pass by on TV on home decoration programmes's and thought they really graced the wall. I took a look at all the vintage stuff I had and was surprised at how much we actually had, vases, books, accessories etc...I have since started using them all in various still lifes. For me, it's important that the atmosphere of the old days, very old days, comes back into the work..and of course the subject should also look old...luckily there are fairs, brocante markets, museums and thrift shops to buy various things for a small price.
I work in photoshop with layers and various textures...a technique I have partly mastered myself but also by attending various workshops with well-known photographers. The important thing then is to follow your own course....
Enjoy it and I think this work on which an old table with antique books and a lantern will hang beautifully on your wall....
The predilection for photography starts early anyway, when I was 12 we moved house and I can still remember exploring the area with my father's camera, an agfa clack... and everything in black and white. I still have most of the photos and even then I could see.. Read more…
