Here we see Sligachan Old Bridge on Isle of Skye, Scotland. Below the bridge flows the Sligachan, while on the horizon looms the Black Cuilins with their lightly snow-covered peaks. Thanks to the rising sun, the sky, mountains and water turn a soft pink, purple and blue this early spring morning.
The stone bridge was built in the early 19th century. More than a structure made of stone, it seems like a gateway to a forgotten era, a time when myths and magic ruled the land. To the heart of medieval times, when knights still rode the land and dragons hovered over the horizon. The bridge has stood the test of time well and still seems to carry the mountains today.
This picture, with its soft clouds and calm river, exudes tranquillity, but could also be an inspiration on the wall of the study, of someone who wants to build bridges between worlds.
