You walk on good, wide, but stony and sometimes steep, ancient footpaths, which still form the only connecting roads here. Regularly there are artificially constructed, stone steps in the route, of which the steps are often too high to walk comfortably. On the paths and stairs there is a lot of manure from pack animals and they are dusty (at least in the dry trekking season). On paths along steep rocky slopes always watch out for stone chips from above and don't dawdle.
