Tips for use

Point your camera at the floor or a piece of furniture first, then move it slowly up towards the wall. A bare white wall is hard for your phone to recognise.
Move your phone gently from side to side. Holding it still or waving it around quickly does not help.
Make sure there is enough light. In a dark room your phone has nothing to lock onto.

Street Musicians at the Door, Jacob Ochtervelt (1665)

Different color schemes allow the artist to capture the contrast between two worlds coming together in the foyer of an upper class Dutch home when beggars come to the door. The bold tile floor, fur-trimmed jackets, and rich coloration define the realm of the wealthy household, while the musicians’ murky browns and muted reds and blues attest to their somewhat less privileged lives. The action takes place in an entrance hall, typical for this artist, Jacob Ochtervelt, credited with the development of the “entrance hall painting.” He uses the transitional space as a setting to explore the differences as well as the universal human connections between these seemingly opposite classes of people. Here a young mother teaches her child to give alms to the industrious musicians.
