The Sultan Abdul Samad Building stands on Dataran Merdeka Square in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur. It was built in the years 1894-1897 as the seat of government of the British crown colony Malaya and is named after Abdul Samad who was Sultan of Selangor at the time. After the independence of Malaysia the building was used as a Supreme Court until the 21st century. The Moorish style building has three copper domes and a forty meter high bell tower.
