A beautiful diffused light shines in through the blinded windows in this room of an abandoned hotel in a small village in Italy. Atmospheric and soothing. However, the history of this hotel is less romantic. In or near the hotel a whole group of villagers were executed by the occupiers in WW-2.
Truus Nijland is a passionate photographer who has a penchant for abandoned buildings such as castles, monasteries, churches and industrial locations.
