About "Summer still life with bowls against a yellow background"

About the artwork

In this summer still life with bowls, the sun projects a shadow through the bowls against a yellow background.
The bright colours and the play of light and shadow create a cheerful scene. The simple composition keeps the picture calming.

I have been making a lot of colourful work lately. I simply feel the need to counterbalance everything you hear in the media about wars, violence and other misery.
My work should be a point of rest in these times and should make people feel positive.

I made this work with a professional camera with natural light (sunlight, just in the backyard).
In the image, I used only one photo, so it is not composed of multiple photos's.
I did not use AI.

About Kees Schouten

After leaving the academy in 1984, I painted for many years. Since about twenty years I have really only made photographic works. Mostly still lifes with glass vases. Glass is a fantastic -but also difficult- material to photograph.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
