About ‘Summer walk through the meadows 2 – Pieterpad’ by Wietske Westra

This work is part of my series inspired by walks along the Pieterpad. In this phase of the series, the landscape is shifting increasingly towards summer. The grass is becoming fuller and greener, the paths drier, and the sky softer and warmer in colour.

In this work, a narrow sandy path winds through a meadow. An open gate and a wooden post with barbed wire lend the landscape a rural and familiar feel, as if you were walking through farmland in the northern Netherlands. In the background, trees fade gently into the distance, whilst the path invites you to walk on.

The work is created using chalk. Working in layers creates soft transitions, whilst the visible lines and texture keep the image lively. The combination of fresh green tones, warm earth and wood colours, and a light sky creates a peaceful summer atmosphere. For me, this work is about freedom and being on the move. About the feeling that a path naturally draws you further, without haste. It is precisely the simplicity of the landscape that makes it special.

In an interior, this work brings a natural, fresh and tranquil feel. The combination of green, sky and soft colours gives a space light and openness.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
