An unusual sky over a beach near the island of Harris on Scotland's west coast creates a sun harp. A seagull flying by completes the picture.
The location is Harris, which forms a dichotomy with Lewis. On the west coast, with famous beaches of Luskentyre and Sgarasta, there is a standing stone on a hill; it is called MacLeod's Stone. The photo was taken from there. A serene spot. The sun harp gives a beautiful pool of light on the sea.
Landscapes and townscapes are my favourite subjects. I search for beauty in the image; that can come from any of the compositional elements such as lines, shapes, rhythms, light/dark, colour combinations. For me a photograph is successful, when I can hang it on the wall.. Read more…
