On the west coast of Scotland lies the Isle of Skye, one of the most popular spots for Scots and tourists alike. And one of the most visited places is the Quiraing to the north on the Trotternish peninsula. Millions of years ago, a massive landslide took place here, creating this distinctive landscape. With the picture here looking south, the west coast is to the left. Two little lakes (one visible here) and a curious sheep add to the interest of the view.
Landscapes and townscapes are my favourite subjects. I search for beauty in the image; that can come from any of the compositional elements such as lines, shapes, rhythms, light/dark, colour combinations. For me a photograph is successful, when I can hang it on the wall.. Read more…
