During my tour of Costa Rica, I also visited Rincón de la Vieja National Park.
This is a beautiful volcanic nature reserve named after the active volcano of the same name. The park consists of two parts: Las Pailas, the volcanic part, and Santa Maria, the part where a lot of tropical rainforest can be found.
Las Pailas is the part of the park that is easiest to access and where many bubbling mud pools and steam geysers can be found.
From these steam geysers comes a lot of vapour, which is carried by the wind between the trees.
And when the sun is directly above it and shines through the leaves on this vapour, you get some beautiful images.
For the onlooker a feast for the eyes to watch and for photographers a beautiful phenomenon to capture.
