The Torres del Paine N.P. in southern Chile is known for its mountains, lakes and glaciers. One of these glaciers is the Grey glacier. The Grey glacier can be visited in 2 ways: an 8 hour hike or a boat trip. Because we thought 8 hours of hiking was a bit too much we booked the boat trip. Unfortunately the weather was bad the whole day and it blew very hard. A bit grumpy we were waiting for the boat to arrive. It was still windy, cloudy and drizzling. We were not really in the mood for a boat trip. After an hour of bouncing on the water in a kind of roller coaster, we finally arrived near the glacier in calmer waters. The low evening sun even broke through the clouds and a beautiful cloud cover formed. For almost an hour we sailed along the 28 km long and 3 km wide glacier.
As we started our return journey, the sky slowly turned red and it was a magnificent sight, so we returned home with a big smile and a great feeling of satisfaction.
