There was something about how the sun clung to the horizon that made me slow everything down. I dropped low, almost at water level, hoping to catch that last bit of warmth as it spilled across the sea. The wave line was just starting to shift into shadow, but the foam at the shoreline was still glowing gold. That contrast felt important—like the light was trying to hold on for just a few more moments. The texture of the foam stood out more than I expected, dotting the frame with soft shapes against the wet sand. I framed the shot wide to stretch out the space between the sun and the foreground, letting the sky and sea meet in layers of soft gradient tones. There’s a quiet tension in this one. It’s not dramatic or loud, but there’s movement beneath the calm. I didn’t want to sharpen it too much. Letting the highlights bloom a little felt more honest to how it looked and felt in that moment.
