Langevelderslag is the name of the connection (the slag) created in 1958 between the Langeveld and the isolated stretch of beach belonging to the Dutch municipality of Noordwijk. The connection is located on the northern side of Noordwijk halfway along the cycle path towards Zandvoort around beach post 75.
The Langevelderslag runs through the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes. Later, the stretch of beach accessed by this was also popularly called the Langevelderslag. In addition to being a family beach, Langevelderslag is known as one of the few starting places for sail kites and as a counting place for unusual birds.
At Langevelderslag beach, a relatively quiet beach 13 kilometres long compared to the busy beaches of Zandvoort and Scheveningen, you can enjoy the wide family beach and the unique vast dune area between Noordwijk and Zandvoort. Throughout the year, there are many activities for young and old, and the trip to the dunes and beach at Langevelderslag is an experience in itself. A 2-kilometre drive through the beautiful dune area takes you to the beach entrance. From Langevelderslag, you can go to the wide family beach but you can also explore the dunes.
Noordwijk has been awarded The Blue Flag again this year. The international quality label awarded annually to seaside resorts that are committed to a clean, environmentally friendly and safe bathing environment. The Blue Flag means that the quality of the bathing water, the sanitary facilities, the facilities for the disabled and the quality of the beach have been assessed.
Noordwijk also has the European QualityCoast quality mark. This quality mark is awarded to international coastal towns that have made special efforts in the field of tourism and environmental care, for the preservation of nature and landscape, their own identity and cultural heritage.
