Twice a year, you can witness the phenomenon of the Brussels Henge. Over a period of about four days, the setting sun is perfectly aligned with the usually busy Rue de la Loi. Of course, you need some luck with the weather and this can be disappointing here in Belgium.
I have been 2 days this year (2024) with varying degrees of success. On both days it was very cloudy, but as sunset approached the sky did clear up a bit, just not really in the right location :-).
Even though the sun was not fully visible, it still created a special atmosphere and we could still enjoy a beautifully coloured sky.
The name is derived from Stonehenge where the sun also aligns with the famous structure. You can find similar phenomena in many places around the world, such as San Francisco, Manhattan, Toronto, ... .
