About "Swimming in the turquoise blue waters of Vrsar"

About the artwork

Vrsar is a small but charming and dreamy town located on the west coast of Istria, Croatia. Known for its beautiful coastline, historic colourful architecture, and lively atmosphere, it attracts visitors looking for a mix of culture and relaxation.

The town, whose historic centre, which includes the parish church of St Martin and the 40-metre-high bell tower, is located on top of a hill, overlooks the Adriatic Sea and offers beautiful views.

Explore the old town with its narrow streets and winding alleys, visit the medieval church and enjoy local seafood in seaside restaurants. Vrsar is also known for its absolutely picturesque marina and the nearby Lim Bay, a nature reserve known for its scenic beauty.

Located between the well-known coastal towns of Rovinj and Porec, Vrsar is a popular summer destination. Its beautiful beaches enchant with turquoise blue sea colours and beautiful idyll. Off the coast of Vrsar are 18 uninhabited islands covered with rare Mediterranean plants.

Vrsar was part of the Republic of Venice (1420-1797), then first of the French kingdom of Italy, and until 1814 of the Illyrian provinces. After the fall of Napoleon, it was part of the Austrian coast until 1915 and then became part of the Kingdom. of Italy (1918-1947), after which it was part of Yugoslavia until 1991 when it was incorporated into the Republic of Croatia.
