The Tarsier, one of the smallest primates in the world, is a fascinating creature found in Bohol, Philippines. With its large, round eyes and cute appearance, the tarsier has become a popular tourist attraction. These nocturnal animals have excellent night vision, which helps them hunt insects and small animals. One of the tarsier’s unique features is its ability to rotate its head almost 180 degrees, allowing it to observe its surroundings without moving its entire body.
Bohol is an ideal location to see these incredible creatures, particularly at the Tarsier Conservation Area or the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary. These protected areas ensure that tarsiers can continue living in their natural habitat with minimal human interference. Visitors are encouraged to remain quiet and respectful, as tarsiers are extremely sensitive to stress. This makes visiting the sanctuaries not only an educational experience but also a chance to appreciate nature’s delicate balance while supporting conservation efforts for these endangered animals.
