Here, through a long exposure on a tripod, I managed to take a speed shot with the out-of-focus effect. This creates a state and feeling of movement. The well-known underground line U2 is a very popular main connection, often used by Berliners as well as tourists of this city.
After the political change, the idea of extending the underground to Pankow was taken up again. Construction work began in 1997, and it took three years to build the 1.5-kilometre tunnel section, while the Pankow underground station was built at the same time. The new terminal station of the U2 line was opened on 16 September 2000. To the north of the station is a 200-metre-long underground turnaround for the trains.
Berlin-Pankow station is both an S-Bahn station and a marshalling yard, closed in 1997, in the Pankow district of the Berlin borough of the same name. The Pankow underground station has been located below the S-Bahn station since 2000. The stations are located at the intersection of the Stettiner Bahn and Berliner Straße, which provides the fastest connection between the Pankow district and the historic centre of Berlin. The marshalling yard and the S-Bahn station were two independent operating stations.
Berlin-Pankow station can be reached by the S2, S8 and S85 S-Bahn lines, the U2 underground line, the M1 and 50 tram lines, and the M27, X54, 155, 250 and 255 bus lines, as well as the N2 and N50 night lines of the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe. These perfect connections make it a particularly popular boarding and transfer point.
As a popular motif among train lovers, it is ideally suited for hanging in work and office spaces, but would also look beautiful in entrance rooms and hallways.
