About ‘The Colossus – Petrova Gora’ by Avum Studio

Amidst autumnal trees and derelict concrete, the Petrova Gora monument rises like a weathered colossus. The central staircase leads straight to the building, as if the entire surroundings were converging on this single point. At the bottom, the walls are covered in graffiti; at the top, the damaged metal structure still stands. It is precisely this contrast that makes the scene so compelling: nature, decay and monumental architecture clash without any one of the three completely prevailing.

What drew me to this place was not just the building itself, but above all the feeling it leaves behind. It is not a polished or classically beautiful monument. It is rough, weathered and partly overtaken by time, nature and people. Yet it still carries a certain weight. The form is futuristic, almost otherworldly, yet at the same time visibly damaged and human.

In an interior, this image works well for those who love urban exploration, brutalist architecture, raw travel photography or images with a darker edge. It doesn’t offer tranquil decoration, but character: a place that raises questions and lingers in the mind longer than a standard city or landscape photograph.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
