Under the name Avum, I photograph whatever catches my eye as I go about my travels: vast landscapes, weathered structures, quiet spots and small details in nature. My work isn’t confined to a single subject. The common thread is the impression an image leaves behind – through scale, texture, tension, decay or beauty in a place where you wouldn’t immediately expect to find it. The photographs are taken whilst travelling and on spontaneous explorations, usually using natural light and with a preference for images that linger in the mind longer than a fleeting glance.
