This series shows the chrysanthemum not in its entirety, but rather in its most intimate, layered detail. By deliberately choosing close-ups and cropped compositions, a play of form, colour and repetition is created as if the flower is slowly unfolding in the image itself.
The warm hues of pink and soft yellow bring an almost tactile softness, while the tight depth-of-focus and balanced light focus attention entirely on the structures of the petal.
The images are abstract yet recognisably poetic and powerful. An ode to silence in form, to the rhythms of nature, and to the beauty of what seems mundane but becomes art under the right eye.
Captured with an eye for detail and composition, these chrysanthemums fit beautifully as a series on the wall soothing, subtle and refined.
