"The Keeper of the Heath"
Herding sheep
Cycling across the moors near Stroe. Yes you happen to come across the shepherd and his flock of sheep. They cross from one heath field over the cycle path to another heath field. The shepherd blows his whistle to give commands. The dog makes sure the 250 sheep stay together and cross the cycle path in a group
The photo presents an impressive picture of a border collie vigilantly keeping his flock of sheep together amidst a flowering purple heath. The calmness of the sheep contrasted with the dog's alert attitude symbolises devotion, cooperation and harmony between animal and nature. This carefully edited photograph beautifully captures not only the moment, but also the mood of the landscape - full of colour, texture and emotion.
