De Landdrost is an office building on Hospitaaldreef, in the centre of Almere. The building consists of a 13-storey office tower and a 9-storey education tower. It was designed by ZZDP architects from Amsterdam. The education tower houses Windesheim University of Applied Sciences.
I converted the photo to high-contrast black and white using Nik Collection Silver Efex Pro. Photographing the corner from close up creates a triangle of light and dark lines. By including another piece of the upper edge of the low-rise building in the corner, which is almost perpendicular to the other lines, a playful break in the pattern is achieved. The edge also adds depth to the photo.
