The Peace Bridge in Londonderry is much more than a bridge - it is a powerful symbol of reconciliation. This elegant, modern structure connects the two banks of the River Foyle: the once-separate east and west of the city.
Since its opening in 2011, the bridge has become a sign of unity, a place where residents and visitors walk, cycle or simply enjoy the view of the city together. Its flowing lines and contemporary design contrast beautifully with the historic buildings in the distance, and therein lies its significance: past and future hand in hand.
