About the artwork

I discovered this enchanting and exciting urban city view on 21 April 2022 during my Easter trip on a daily walk through Palermo's historic, baroque old town.

The photographic motif was taken in the afternoon hours with the NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR: 50.0 mm f/1.4).
The reduction of the colour tones to classic black and white lends the picture a timeless, elegant atmosphere that blends harmoniously and unobtrusively into all living and working spaces.

Palermo has dressed up! As the capital of Sicily, Palermo was named Italian Capital of Culture in 2018 and this status has helped Palermo to transform itself. Today, Palermo's historic centre is home to a pretty pedestrian zone where chaos and traffic once reigned. Palermo surprises with great sights, for which you should allow a few days.
The best way to discover Palermo is on foot or with the Hop On Hop Off bus, which promises an exciting tour of the city and allows you to hop on and off at various stops, taking in a whole host of sights.
We recommend a tour of the old town, which you can easily do in one day and visit the most important sights in the centre.

The charming street scene shows a male passer-by strolling elegantly through the old quarter to the side of Palermo Cathedral.
Many playful baroque façades with often crumbling plaster and washed-out colours captivate with a particularly enchanting flair and are ideal for living and working spaces. The abstraction in black and white tones lends the picture motif a timeless, elegant and unobtrusive atmosphere that conjures up a relaxed and inviting ambience in all living and working spaces.
