About the artwork

There’s something about this scene that stopped me in my tracks. A dusty little Fiat 500—worn, scratched, but still full of character—tucked under a tree just starting to bloom. The ground is scattered with pink petals, like nature decided to throw a quiet celebration without telling anyone. I didn’t plan this shot. It just appeared, like so many things do when you’re simply paying attention.

What I love about this image is the stillness. The way time seems to slow down. You’ve got the old car, probably untouched for weeks, maybe even longer. And then this burst of spring wrapping around it, softening the hard edges of the city. The backdrop—a weathered Roman wall—adds that extra layer of texture I’m always drawn to.

To me, this photograph feels like a small reminder: there’s beauty in the pause. In the in-between moments. In things that have history and soul. I hope it brings a bit of that calm, that quiet romance, into your home too. A whisper of Rome, frozen in time.
