At the coast of Arnarstapi there are many islands. Large, small, high and low formations of basalt. Remnants of volcanic activity from a distant past. Waves caress, waves pound. Proudly the hard basalt holds out against this everlasting violence of the ocean. The former fishing village, on the Snaefellsnes peninsula, offers an inexhaustible supply of inspiration for photographers, painters, but also writers and poets. A coast for profound musings, enthusiastic framing, and moments of total Zen.
