The atmospheric town of Alvor is a small fishing village in the Algarve, located between Lagos and Portimão. Being located on a large lagoon connected to the sea, Alvor has a rich history in fishing, which is still an important industry. Yet these days, the fishing boats have to share the waterfront with pleasure boats and sports enthusiasts who use the bay for water sports such as kite- and windsurfing.
Immediately south of the village, a wooden platform has been built where you can walk through this beautiful natural area. On one side you can see the water sports enthusiasts in the bay; on the other is the ocean.
