I love low-light photography, shooting in minimal ambient light. Even when the sun has long since set, it is often still possible to take photographs, you just need very long shutter speeds. It always remains to be seen what the final result will be, which is perhaps why it is so much fun. I captured this beacon almost an hour and a half after sunset. It stands on the dunes along the North Sea coast near the Stortemelk campsite on Vlieland.

Hallo! Mijn naam is Robert Wierenga. Leuk dat je mijn werk bekijkt. Naast mijn werk als Spoedeisende Hulp arts ben ik actief als landschapsfotograaf. Het vastleggen van onze mooie wereld biedt me een mooi tegenwicht voor de hectiek binnen de ziekenhuismuren. Ik trek er graag op uit tijdens de momenten met het mooiste licht, vaak rond zonsopkomst of zonsondergang.
