About the artwork

The bow of a moored ship at the harbor quay.

Raw and the harbor as it is the people who work there. The images I see there I like to photograph because it is art in itself. The harbor is a different world. The landscape of the harbor is always changing. The ships, the people and the landscape continue to fascinate me.

I was walking along the quay in the port of Amsterdam. I saw the ship lying there and with the sun shining on it it looked great. When I came closer I saw a picture full of bright colors and dark shadows.

The roughness of the bow, the green, brown of the rust, the blue of the shipping company and the calibration mark. The drag marks of the anchors on the bulb. I climb down on the shore side to take this photo and others. The hull of a cargo ship has a great story to tell.

Ship's view_Port photography raw and honest as the port itself.
